For our third camp of 2004 we decided to hold a practice camp during the Autumn Half Term. We used the Bentley Copse Campsite at Shere near Guilford for our standing camp but wanted to practice our kit carrying skills.

Bentley Copse is in the Surrey Hills and there are some fantastic walks around. We started fron Silent Pool, went straight up onto the ridgeway and descended through Shere back to Silent Pool. It also gave us a chance to practice our map and compass work.

Although it was the last day of October the weather was fantastic!. This is us hiking on Saturday in T shirts.

We wanted to try lightweight cooking so everbody was provided with an Army 24 hour ration pack. It was up to the individual Scout to make it last twenty-four hours!

Saturday evening was spent drinking hot chocolate around a camp fire.
Sunday was our Fun-Day. Pioneering in the morning and Go-Karts after lunch.
